Every one of these can be built into a journey. Choose the ones you want and I will fit them together in an order that works with the light, the tides and the road.
Via ferrata, cables, ladders and suspension bridges through the limestone. We start at five so we are on the plateau before the rock gets hot. A harness is compulsory and you will use your hands.
The shorter, gentler circuit. Two to three hours, a few ladders, wide views over the pinnacle field. A good first afternoon and the right choice if the Grand circuit is beyond you.
Two hours upriver between limestone walls, with stops at caves and at Vazimba burial sites left in the rock by the first people of this coast. Best at dawn, when the walls are still cool.
Three days drifting west by pirogue, camping on sandbanks, stopping at villages and waterfalls. No facilities, no phone signal, and the best food of the trip cooked on the bank.
Sifaka and brown lemurs by day, mouse lemurs and sportive lemurs after dark. We keep our distance, we use red light, and we never feed anything.
Dry deciduous forest an hour from the baobabs. Fossa are most active in October and November. The giant jumping rat lives nowhere else on earth.
Sunrise is quieter than sunset and the light is better. We can do both — it is twenty minutes from Morondava and worth two visits.
Ground rollers, couas, vangas and the Madagascar fish eagle on the Manambolo. Early mornings, slow walking, patience rewarded.
The market at Belo sur Tsiribihina, zebu carts, salt and dried fish. I translate, I introduce you, and I tell you what is fady before we arrive.

The Isalo massif, the Andringitra ridges, the rainforest trails at Ranomafana. Days from two hours to two weeks, at your pace.
Three or four quiet days at the end: Ifaty and the reef in the south-west, Nosy Be and Anjajavy in the north, or simply Morondava beach before the flight.
